A breeze riffles the surface of the water as a glowing sun descends over the western shoreline. The scent of pines lingers heavily in the air, and you hear the first loon of the evening send up its haunting cry. From a screened-in porch overlooking the lapping waves, you watch the tranquil yet ever-changing panorama while the sun slips below the horizon and darkness comes to the woods. This is Lookout Lodge, on the eastern shore of Big Water on Charleston Lake, Ontario.
